The project is still under way. Decompilation is long, manual work that rebuilds the game's source from its binary, and it can take years before a playable port exists.

How to install

  1. 01You need your own Perfect Dark ROM. The project accepts all three regions, each with its own file name and executable.
  2. 02Download the automatic build for your system (Windows or Linux, 64- or 32-bit) and extract it.
  3. 03Create a folder called data next to the executable and put the US ROM in it under the exact name pd.ntsc-final.z64. The wrong name is the most common mistake: the game does not find the ROM.
  4. 04For the European ROM use the name pd.pal-final.z64 and open the pd.pal executable; for the Japanese one, pd.jpn-final.z64 and the pd.jpn executable.
  5. 05Optional: the Game Boy Color Perfect Dark ROM named pd.gbc in the same folder emulates the Transfer Pak and unlocks some cheats. The graphics card needs OpenGL 3.0 or newer.
