How this port works

This is a native port: the game was rebuilt to run as a real PC program with no emulator in the loop. That usually means better performance, arbitrary resolution and mod support — and it is why these run well on modest hardware.

Native Windows port of Shadow of the Colossus (PS4, CUSA08809) - bring your own game dump. Port nativo para PC.

How to install

  1. 01You need your own copy of Shadow of the Colossus for PS4 (CUSA08809), dumped from the console — the European 1.01 version is recommended. The folder must hold eboot.bin, sce_module and sce_sys.
  2. 02You also need two decrypted PS4 sound modules, libSceNgs2.sprx and libSceUlt.sprx, taken from your console or from a shadPS4 install’s modules folder. Without them the game runs silent — the most common mistake.
  3. 03Download SotC-PC.zip from the release, unpack it and open SotC.exe. The first time, the launcher searches your drives for the game folder, the sound modules, a shadPS4 save to import and the DLCs.
  4. 04Check the game and saves page in the launcher and press PLAY.
  5. 05The 60 FPS and 16x filtering modes only work on the European 1.01 version; the others run at 30. Requires 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 and a Vulkan 1.3 card.

Frequently asked

Do I need the original game to play Shadow of the Colossus on PC?

Yes. The project distributes no game data — you supply your own copy or dump. Every project in this scene works this way, and it is what lets them stay publicly hosted on GitHub.

What does "native" mean?

This is a native port: the game was rebuilt to run as a real PC program with no emulator in the loop. That usually means better performance, arbitrary resolution and mod support — and it is why these run well on modest hardware.

Will Shadow of the Colossus run on a low-end PC?

Native ports and recompilations skip CPU emulation entirely, so they are usually far lighter than an emulator for the same console. With no published measurement for this project, though, any estimate would be guesswork — test it on your own machine.

When was Shadow of the Colossus released?

The original game shipped in 2018, developed by Bluepoint Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. This PC port is from 2026.

Which systems does it support?

The current release (v0.60.6) ships builds for PC. The game originally shipped on PlayStation 4.

Is it legal to use?

The project is public and open source, maintained by AjncSystem, and contains nothing from the commercial game. Responsibility for the game copy you use is yours — which is why the developers require you to supply your own.
